OEKO-TEX®

OEKO-TEX® is a recognized global organization consisting of 18 independent research and testing institutes working within the textile and leather industry. Founded in 1992, the organization has today achieved a significant position as a key player in the certification and standardization of textile products. The primary goal of OEKO-TEX® is to protect consumer health by ensuring that textile products are free from harmful substances and to provide a framework that supports environmentally friendly and socially responsible production methods.

OEKO-TEX® offers a range of certifications and standards, each focusing on different aspects of product quality and sustainability. One of the most well-known standards is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which performs rigorous tests on textile products. If products meet the requirements of this standard, they are granted the right to carry the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label, which signals to consumers that the product is safe and free from harmful chemicals.

GOTS

GOTS, or Global Organic Textile Standard, is an international standard for the certification of organic textile products. The standard covers the entire production process, from the cultivation of raw materials to the manufacture and distribution of the finished product. GOTS aims to ensure sustainability and social responsibility in the textile industry.

For a product to receive GOTS certification, it must meet strict requirements for the use of organic fibers, chemical restrictions and environmental management, as well as social criteria such as worker rights and occupational safety. At least 70% of the fibers in the finished product must be organically grown in order to be certified. Certification also involves inspections and controls throughout the supply chain to ensure that standards are met.

The GOTS label is recognized globally and gives consumers the assurance that they are buying environmentally friendly and socially responsible textile products.

WOOLMARK

Woolmark is a recognized brand that represents high quality wool. It symbolizes an international standard for pure new wool and is used as a seal of quality for products made from wool. The Woolmark logo is registered and owned by The Woolmark Company, a global organization dedicated to marketing and technological development in the wool industry. When a product bears the Woolmark logo, it indicates that the wool has undergone rigorous testing to ensure it meets standards of purity, softness and durability. It's a reliable sign to both consumers and manufacturers of the quality and authenticity of the product.

ECOLOGO / GREENGUARD

ECOLOGO and GREENGUARD are both certifications that focus on environmental and health standards, but they address different aspects. ECOLOGO is a certification that aims to identify products and services that have minimal environmental impact throughout their life cycle. It covers areas such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and the use of sustainable materials, and is generally intended to help consumers and businesses make more environmentally friendly choices.

The GREENGUARD certification, on the other hand, is primarily focused on indoor air quality. This certification ensures that products have low chemical emissions, contributing to healthier indoor environments. Products that meet GREENGUARD standards are tested to ensure they do not emit harmful levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can affect human health.

Both certifications help promote sustainability and health, but they do so in different ways and are intended to address different needs and concerns.
