Soft and cosy mittens with fold-over cuffs in 100% merino wool from Byhappyme

The mittens in 100% organic merino wool are designed with a fold-over design for a perfect fit and extra protection. With the fold-over, you can easily adjust the length of the mittens and ensure that warmth is kept tightly around little hands and wrists, no matter how much they move. The fibres in the material are soft and will feel comfortable against the skin.

Byhappyme's wool mittens are especially useful if the weather is a little cooler or if your baby has sharp nails and tends to scratch their face. The soft yet strong material protects delicate skin from accidental scratches.

Is it true that wool has health benefits?

Studies show that babies and children who wear wool against their skin have a lower risk of catching colds and illness, especially when the temperature drops. This is due to the material's superior ability to regulate body temperature and keep the skin dry, creating an optimal climate close to the body whether the child is active or sitting still.

Merino wool's properties are a win-win for your child

Merino wool is an amazing material with a wealth of natural properties. Many people don't realise it, but the material is naturally temperature regulating. This means it keeps your child's hands warm when the weather is cold and allows the hands and skin to breathe when the temperature rises.

Requires less washing and protects the environment

Wool has the amazing property of being self-cleaning, which means it rarely needs washing. In fact, a simple airing can often be enough to freshen up your mittens. This is not only extremely convenient and time-saving for busy parents, but also a more environmentally friendly solution as it minimises both water and energy consumption from the washing machine.

3 certifications mean top quality and more than you'd expect - peace of mind for you and your child

Airing - a good alternative to washing

To preserve the life and appearance of the wool body, airing is an excellent alternative to frequent washing. Merino wool fibres have natural antibacterial properties that prevent odours and bacteria from penetrating the fabric. This means that the bodysuit with American closure can be used several times between washes, which saves you time and reduces wear and tear, extending the life of the garment. A thorough airing is often enough and helps refresh the wool, keeping it looking and smelling great for longer. This is not only more convenient, but also more sustainable as it reduces water and energy consumption when washing. Even after many months of use, the bodysuit will look almost new if cared for properly.

Avoid soaking

Wool is a natural material known for its thermal insulation and softness, but requires gentle care. Soaking can damage the fibres of wool by weakening or shrinking them. Therefore, wash wool gently on 800 revolutions in the washing machine with mild wool detergent and avoid prolonged soaking.
